Patroness of mercy
On February 22, 1931, Jesus visited St. Faustina. He revealed himself as the “King of Divine Mercy”. He was wearing a white garment with red and pale rays coming from his heart. Jesus specifically spoke to her and appointed her as the apostle of God’s mercy. St. Faustina later described the image that she saw to an artist and that is how we have the recognizable Divine Mercy Image today. Jesus said to St. Faustina, “My Daughter, do whatever is within your power to spread devotion to Divine Mercy, I will make up for what you lack,” during her time trying to spread the Divine Mercy Chaplet prayer.
